Cadburys: Spots V Stripes

Fallon are responsible for Cadbury’s latest campaign as one of the official sponsors of the 2012 Olympics. The pressure is on for confectionery company after the massive error in 2003 encouraging children to eat the brand’s chocolate and collect vouchers from the packets. Fallon, who also did the ‘gorilla’ and ‘eyebrows’ campaigns, have gone a step further in creating a viral and interactive advert directing people to the website and getting the nation involved in a fun twist of spots V stripes.

Art Deco cinema restoration, Stretford, Greater Manchester

The pink and blue decorative facade had always caught my eye since I was nipper being driven past it on the way in to the city centre. As soon as I could pull a sentence together I asked what it was. A cinema, originally called The Longford, opened in 1939. The building has been left like a giant gravestone since 1994. The pink and blue paint flaking and rotting amidst the grim and famous Manchester rain. A few years back The Longford was repainted. Was it going to be resurrected? Low and behold last month, front page of our free local newspaper, printed in black and white, were plans of the site’s restoration. Exciting! Will they sell out to Odeon? Cineworld? I don’t care. As long as they don’t change the pink and blue... And they do student discount.
